I workout!

And now I have “Sexy and I Know” by LMFAO stuck in my head 🙂

Confession: I was cleared to workout last week by my physical therapist (Yay!). I’ve been itching to workout for 5-6 weeks now (since the doctor told me no). Since I was given permission, I was having a hard time finding the motivation. I was told that I could try running (short runs), ride the recumbent bike and lift (as long as my back is supported). I put it out there to my accountability group that I’m a part of and the group that I run. It’s amazing what that did for me. Admitting this got me energized. I wasn’t going to workout until this morning, but yesterday I got home and hit the apartment gym.

I did a 20 minute interval run on the treadmill. Pushed myself just enough that I got a great sweat on, but not too much so that I don’t start having pain. This morning I’m happy to report I feel great!

Yesterday I also started the day off with a yummy breakfast of 2 sunny side up eggs, 2 pieces of turkey bacon and 1 piece of gluten free toast

I was so full that I wasn’t hungry until lunch. I didn’t intentionally not have my morning snack, I like to eat every 3 hours to keep my metabolism going, but I wasn’t hungry so I didn’t eat.

Some of my go to snacks lately have been Greek yogurt with fruit (see below), 100 calorie pack of almonds and apples. They’re very easy on the go snacks; so simple, easy and they leave me satisfied and full.

Last night was movie date night. The boy picked Pacific Rim. Some of his buddy’s went and saw it the night before and said it was good. I had zero interest in seeing it, but I was more than happy to go anyways.

The movie wasn’t half bad. I think what really made the experience was seeing it in IMAX 3D. I was so intrigued by the filming of the movie that I was only semi paying attention to the plot of the movie. Seriously, if you seen it you’ll understand. I would have been interested in seeing the set of this movie and seeing what technology did for the movie.

I’ve seen more movies in the last week and a half than I think I’ve seen in 5 years – Iron Man 3, Despicable Me 2, Just Got With It, Grown Ups, This is 40, Moneyball, and Pacific Rim. Oh boy!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Tuesday!

Sunday Night Special

Friday was SO crazy, that I forgot to post my blog! I decided to post tonight as a little extra surprise.

Thursday was a challenging day at the office. There is a lot going on, and I’m learning every day how to juggle and manage it. It’s not easy, and there is a lot of pressure to get things done, but I know I can do it. I know that I have the skills to get the job done well. I know that in due time everything will come together nicely, and things won’t be so crazy.

Thankfully, I was able to take my mind off my day, by enjoying an evening with friends. Something wonderful about being able to sit down and relax and talk about anything but work. I am so grateful to have made these connections in Austin and to be developing these relationships. I’m so happy.

Thursday for breakfast I made protein pancake. I was so hungry that I was eating as I was making them

Lunch was a salad with chicken and creamy garlic dressing. This has been my go to lunch these days. It is super easy to make and nice because you can add any protein you want. The dressing is from the Ultimate Reset, and it takes minutes to make. It’s nice to make a patch at the beginning of the week and use it throughout the week. Love a great salad!

I had a fabulous plyo workout on Thursday. This is a very difficult workout, but when I get through it I feel amazing. I push myself to be better, do better, and jump better every time I do this workout. I love seeing my progress – being able to get through the whole workout without stopping or jumping higher. IT’S AWESOME!

That purple band is not my friend, and I love it! If you haven’t tried Insanity Asylum 1, I HIGHLY recommend it.

I was very much looking forward to a full and relaxing weekend. Stay tuned tomorrow for details!
